FOREST FARM CENTRE - ADOPT AN ORPHAN PROGRAM

Hello. I’m Raymond Wasserfall. I was born on the 11^th of February 1960.

I was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at birth.

I use a walker to get around because the older I get the more I seem to lose my balance. (Limited cognition).

I joined Forest Farm Centre on the 15^th of January 1978 at the age of 18.

Forest Farm Centre has been my home now for 44 years.

I’ve required special care and attention all my life.

I was an only child and my parents are in Heaven.

Forest Farm Centre is my home and the other residents and staff are my family.

I love socialising and making friends.

Hello. My name is Dimakatso Peete. I was born on the 23^rd of November 1988.

I was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at birth.

I am severely disabled both physically and cognitively. I have no speech but I can use my face and my voice to indicate how I feel.

I joined Forest Farm Centre on the 1^st of July 2006 at the age of 18.

Forest Farm Centre has been my home now for 16 years.

I’ve required special care and attention all my life.

My parents are in Heaven.

Forest Farm Centre is my home and the other residents and staff are my family.

I love music and my best asset is my smile.

Hello. I’m Steven du Toit. I was born on the 9^th of November 1985.

I was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at birth.

I use my wheelchair most of the time but I am determined to push myself and walk on my crutches as long as I can. (Limited cognition).

I joined Forest Farm Centre on the 30^th of January 2004 at the age of 19.

Forest Farm Centre has been my home now for 16 years.

I’ve required special care and attention all my life.

My parents are still living but their circumstances are such that they cannot look after me.

Forest Farm Centre is my home and the other residents and staff are all the family I have.

I love to push myself to learn and try any skill to see how far I can go. I’m particularly fascinated by computers and technology.

Situated in Bryanston, Johannesburg, Forest Farm is a residential care facility for adults of all colours and creeds who have cerebral palsy. Founded by parents of children with cerebral palsy in the late 1960s, Forest Farm has evolved over the decades.
